Frequently Asked Audition Questions
When do you rehearse? We rehearse every Friday evening with occasional Sundays. All companies rehearse from 6:15 - 8:00. When we are preparing for a show, our rehearsals often extend until 9:00 on Fridays. |
Where do you rehearse? We hold our regularly scheduled rehearsals at DanceWorks Indy in downtown Indianapolis. DanceWorks is a state-of-the-art facility with hardwood flooring in two studios! |
How often do you perform? We typically hold one to two large performances a year. In 2023 our performances will include: The IndyFringe Festival and a Fall Concert. There are typically opportunities for smaller performances throughout the year. |
Will CCTC conflict with my home studio? No! All rehearsals, performances, etc. with your home studio are excused absences from CCTC rehearsals and events! |
I'm a teenager, can I just be a part of CCTC?No. All youth company members are required to be enrolled at a local studio in a tap class. We do not regulate where. We wish to suplement training received at the studio, not replace it! |
How much is the membership fee? There is no fee for company members. |
Do I have to have expensive tap shoes? While we do recommend that members have professional level tap shoes, we do not require it. We do believe, however, that you get better sound and tonal quality out of a higher end shoe. |
Are there any extra fees?Typically no, but there may be times that we ask for small contributions to help pay for guest artists' choreography and/or master classes. |
Do you have Zoom options for rehearsal? At this time, we are only offering Zoom options for people who are at-risk and/or quarantining due to possible exposure or a positive Covid-19 test. |
Are Friday night sporting events excused absences?Members of the Pre-Pro Company are allotted two (2) excused absences for sporting events per sport season. Other events like Homecoming are excused and don't count toward the two other absences. |
What other opportunities does CCTC offer? In addition to our shows, we regularly produce professional level video drops, have outreach programming for all ages, busking, and performance opportunities at various tap festivals. |
